PBS staff have been working on the Vancouver Waterfront site for more than 10 years. Initial geotechnical evaluations were focused on site infrastructure including design of pavements and utilities and then later turned into the evaluation of more than a dozen individual blocks.
PBS has provided geotechnical design services to evaluate seismic considerations such as liquefaction and lateral spreading; develop recommendations for one- to two-story, below grade basements that can withstand a 500-year flood; shallow and deep foundations; temporary shoring; testing services; and construction observation.
