PROJECT PROFILE
It was important to PBS and the City of Portland to improve the safety along Fairview Boulevard by designing a repair for the vertical scarp created by a landslide.

PBS evaluated the landslide that occurred along SW Fairview Boulevard following a heavy rainfall event in 2015 resulting in a scarp that was approximately 40 feet wide and approximately 20 feet tall.

Fairview Boulevard Landslide 1

PBS completed stability analyses to evaluate the slide, which included comparing the post landslide surface with the pre-landslide surface using GIS analysis to compare LiDAR datasets, develop recommendations for repair, prepared project plans used during construction, and provided observation and testing services during construction.
