Rogue Brewery Seawall Evaluation and Repair

 Newport, Oregon
PROJECT PROFILE
Although the seawall was within a marine environment, this project showcased PBS’ extensive and flexible skills when working in an uncommon environment to perform material testing, subsurface investigation, and planning.
Hod Wells, PE, Structural Engineering Manager

Constructed in the late 1970s, the deteriorating seawall at the South Beach Marina consists of steel soldier piles jet-set into the Yaquina Bay sand and tied back with a concrete deadman anchor.

Structural Inspection

Due to the Port initiating a program to identify the feasibility of extending its useful life, PBS was responsible for the visual assessment of the structure and development of preliminary rehabilitation schemes and cost estimates.
