With only one connection to I-5, the City of Ridgefield set out to explore alternatives that would create an additional connection, reduce congestion, support the area’s long-term circulation needs, and accommodate projected growth.

I-5 South Connection 4
Design Alternative

The purpose of PBS’ study was to produce design alternatives that would reduce travel demand at the existing interchange, find a route that provided east-west connectivity, develop a conceptual connection approvable by WSDOT, and develop a conceptual plan that could be used to pursue funding for design, right-of-way, and construction.

In the future, the City will use this data to select a preferred alternative.
