PBS was again ranked among the Top 500 Design Firms by Engineering News Record (ENR). At position 351, the firm ranked 106 positions higher from their initial debut on the nationally recognized list in 2016. ENR ranks engineering companies based on revenue for design-based services, and is widely considered the industry benchmark for success. In addition, PBS came in at #10 among Pacific-Northwest design firms.
Founded in 1982 in Portland, Oregon, PBS has grown to house nearly 300 professionals in Oregon and Washington. The firm specializes in engineering, environmental, and surveying services, and practices in offices throughout the Pacific Northwest. The firm’s solid rank on the list is attributed to the diversity of its in-house service areas and utilization of various technologies to keep staff safe and connected while working during the COVID-19 pandemic.
ENR is a leading engineering and construction publication that provides engineering and construction news, analysis, commentary, and data. ENR reports on the top design firms, both architects and engineers, and the top construction companies as well as projects in the United States and around the world.
The Top 500 Design Firms list is published each Spring based on surveys conducted by ENR of companies that specialize in general and specialty contracting, engineering and environmental services, and other disciplines. The top 500 companies are then ranked from 1 to 500 based on annual revenue from work both domestically and abroad.
