New leaders emerge as the firm expands services throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Jason Mattox began his career at PBS 19 years ago through HDJ Design Group, which was acquired in 2016. As a civil engineer, Mattox has worked with clients across eastern Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, specializing in engineering assistance for public works, educational, commercial, and residential projects. During that time, he served as Operations Manager for the firm’s eastern Washington offices, eventually being promoted to the role of Survey Department Manager in 2021.

“During his time at PBS, Jason has demonstrated what it means to be a dedicated partner to clients and team members alike,” said Mark Leece, PBS’ Chief Operating Officer. “We look forward to his continued success as he works to revitalize the Northwest’s infrastructure through the science of engineering.” Mattox steps into his new role as the firm continues to expand its engineering operations in the region, a department that has more than tripled in size over the last decade.

Regan Schaller’s journey with PBS began in 2012 when he joined the firm as a Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) through HDJ Design Group, which was acquired in 2016. During the merger of the two firms, Schaller played a critical role in helping to develop and implement file and equipment processes that supported the ongoing standardization of the firms’ surveying operations and allowed the firm to expand its reach into new markets.

With 22 years of total experience, Schaller specializes in the latest technologies for topographic, boundary, ALTA, drone, and construction staking, utilizing robotic and terrestrial/RTK-based GNSS surveying methods, deformation monitoring, and 3D laser scanning.

Commenting on this advancement, CEO Brian Stanford stated, “Regan Schaller’s history with PBS is one of collaboration and exploration of new technologies. Under his direction, our surveying crews will work seamlessly to elevate the mapping and geospatial services we’re able to offer directly to clients, as well as complex, multi-disciplinary teams.”

Schaller is a member of the Land Surveyors Association of Washington and the Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon.
