Oregon OSHA Releases Draft COVID-19 Temporary Standard

PBS News & Updates

OSHA logoOn August 17, Oregon OSHA released a draft COVID-19 temporary standard [PDF]. This standard includes rules related to distancing, engineering controls, sanitation, training, and personal protective equipment for all employers in Oregon.

In addition, rules for workplaces with “heightened risk” are required to perform a documented risk assessment, enhanced training, and enhanced sanitation. Finally, workplaces with “exceptional risk” are required to develop and implement an infection control plan.

A final permanent standard is expected to be released by February 2021.

PBS continues to monitor the evolving COVID-19 compliance requirements with the ultimate goal of maintaining safety for building occupants, keeping facilities active, and preventing regulatory shutdowns.
